Suitable for cyclemotors

Some organisers make special arrangements to make runs suitable for cyclemotors and similarly slow-moving machines.  These runs are marked with a green logo.  A ride doesn't have to be especially short or hill-free to qualify.  Arrangements to prevent cyclemotorists being left behind on their own and getting to the lunch stop half an hour behind all the mopeds are what is needed.

If you'd like an event listed here, please contact us.

7th July

Extract from The Magic Wheel, April 1953

‘a fine afternoon in spring will tempt me to find out excatly what there is to see at “Offley Holes,” ... the ford at Waterend (one of the prettiest sights for miles), and the mill at Lemsford — another beautiful picture.

‘The fact that that mill was the original of “An Old Mill by the Stream, Nellie Dean” was not marked on the Ordance Survey map, but I found it out...

‘Even the names of the places draw me to them.  Barley Beans; Diamond End; Whiteway Bottom; Normansland, St. Ippolitts; Slaughter Wood—and behind ever one is a story.’

EACC Kneel's Wheels and the EACC AGM at Coddenham village hall.  Map
The last EACC mopedjumble of the season combined with a tour of the quiet Suffolk lanes.
Kneel's Wheels is the biggest of the EACC village hall based runs; the village hall in question is at Coddenham.  This will be the tenth running of this classic event.  Full reception facilities and free refreshments are available on arrival.  The mopedjumble is typically supported by all, from the larger stands to the various smaller pitches of general members.  The jumble opens 9:30am, the run sets off at 11:00am.  The route is the same as last year with the lunch stop at Claydon Crown.  After lunch, the run returns to Coddenham where the jumble continues.  The EACC AGM will be at 2:15pm - although the AGM is, of course, "members only", the EACC welcomes non-members throughout the rest of the event.
Directions to the start: Coddenham is on the B1078.  Leave the A14 at its junction with the A140 and the B1078 is the first turning to the right off the A140.  Coddenham is the first village along the road.  After the road snakes around the church, turn left in the village centre.  The village hall is along this road on the right.

Notes

Many events listed in this calendar are "closed to club members".  The EACC offers free day membership to visiting riders at all its rides.  The NACC, British Two-Stroke Club and the VMCC Cyclemotor Section also offer day membership at selected events, for which there is usually a charge.  The golden rule is: if you want to take part in an event listed here and you do not belong to the organising club, always contact the event organiser to see if you are permitted to take part.

Generally, riders of veteran and low powered machines are also welcome at these events.  Contact the event organiser for details.

Please call at a reasonable hour when telephoning for details of events (not forgetting the time difference if you're 'phoning another country).
