An innovation for this year's Radar Run is an optional,
shortened route for cyclemotors. This route is 11 miles
shorter than the main route. The cyclemotor route runs along the
same roads as the main route but omits two 'dead end'
spurs. This means that the back-up vehicle can cover both
routes.
Hills? There's only one uphill section of note. The
lunch stop pub is down by the shore, so there's a climb back up
again. Fortified by their lunch, cylemotorist should have
no trouble ascending it!
The EACC 9th Radar Run and Mopedjumble

(Hamilton Road) from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Entry is

Last year's show was held in the town centre
for the first time; the council closed the main part of the
shopping area to traffic. this helped to make the show a
big success with lots of visitors. There are lots of
dealers and clubs attending. With all the town centre shops
open too, it should be a great day.

On close investigation it has become apparent that the the North Hertfordshire countryside has still more potential to be uncovered in the way of cyclemotor runs. This run takes us from the start at Cottered Village Hall and takes in many local villages and hamlets on the way to Periwinkle Hill at Barkway. Periwinkle hill has an altitude of around 500 feet with some spectacular views. On a clear day it is possible to see as far as Ely some 30 miles to the North.
The route of approximately 30 miles and consists of mainly typical cyclemotor lanes and classic English countryside. All in all a very rideable run for all classes of machine. The run takes us through Brent Pelham where we will be stopping for a lunch and social chinwag at the Black Horse public house.
