The Radar Run - ideal for cyclemotors

An innovation for this year's Radar Run is an optional, shortened route for cyclemotors.  This route is 11 miles shorter than the main route. The cyclemotor route runs along the same roads as the main route but omits two 'dead end' spurs.  This means that the back-up vehicle can cover both routes.
Hills?  There's only one uphill section of note.  The lunch stop pub is down by the shore, so there's a climb back up again.  Fortified by their lunch, cylemotorist should have no trouble ascending it!

The EACC 9th Radar Run and Mopedjumble starts at Bromeswell Village Hall.
There's a superb circuit around Bawdsey peninsula with lots of historical interest details on the course notes.  All welcome - free Day Membership if you're not an EACC member, the usual free pitches for jumble stands - call Paul on 01394 671222 to allow him to set your spot in the hall.  Jumble opens from 9:30am, run sets off at 11am.  Everyone welcome - Free day membership if you're not an EACC member.

The EACC is having a club stand at the show and we're sponsoring it, so come along and meet us there.
Last year's show was held in the town centre for the first time; the council closed the main part of the shopping area to traffic.  this helped to make the show a big success with lots of visitors.  There are lots of dealers and clubs attending.  With all the town centre shops open too, it should be a great day.

The North Herts Non-Conformists are unveiling another new run for 2012 under the EACC banner.  Mark Daniels has kindly agreed to be in attendance once again & if you require anything in particular please contact him in advance as he cannot carry all of his stock with him.

On close investigation it has become apparent that the the North Hertfordshire countryside has still more potential to be uncovered in the way of cyclemotor runs.  This run takes us from the start at Cottered Village Hall and takes in many local villages and hamlets on the way to Periwinkle Hill at Barkway.  Periwinkle hill has an altitude of around 500 feet with some spectacular views.  On a clear day it is possible to see as far as Ely some 30 miles to the North.

The route of approximately 30 miles and consists of mainly typical cyclemotor lanes and classic English countryside.  All in all a very rideable run for all classes of machine.  The run takes us through Brent Pelham where we will be stopping for a lunch and social chinwag at the Black Horse public house.

This is the third year of this successful and well supported event.  This will be basically the same route as last year; it will pass the great Airship hangers at Cardington and you will see some surprising views of them on the return journey.  There will be tea and biscuits available in the Hall on arrival and finish. There is no charge for this run but we would appreciate any donations however small to help pay towards the cost of hiring the village hall.  The lunch/refreshment stop is at The Crown public house, Henlow.
