Raleigh RM4 Automatic, 1961, Mobylette engine. Wheels rebuilt by Robin Cowling with stainless spokes and Radelli rims plus hubs polished. New Michelin Rapido 2×19 tyres and tubes. The only hard information I have at the moment is taken from the
1956 Motor Cycle article, so if anyone has any more information
it would be really helpful (a patent number would be
perfect!).

owners from new, reg 01/01/1965, old style log book & tax
disc, 4,976 miles, reputed to be genuine, speedo working,
original Hutchinson front tyre, which could do with replacing,
original Marchal spark plug & plug cap, both inner tubes
original with Woods valves, very good original seat, both pedal
cranks straight, pedals have been replaced with West German
pedals early 1970s, chrome wheel rims are true, but chrome has
suffered through standing, headlamp unit good & working, rear
sprocket good, but would benefit from a new chain, bad points,
both brake levers slightly bent on the ends, r/hand handlebar
grip perished, rear lamp lens cracked. I have got it
running & it sounds OK, driven it down the garden a couple of
times & that's enough for me as I can't handle the
1.8bhp. £175.

Motom 48,
the MV-Agusta of cyclemotors! The bike that dominated 50cc
racing in its early days! Totally original and unrestored,
3 speed, new clutch and exhaust fitted, plastic bag of assorted
worn out and worthless parts, dating letter from Roy Bacon, if I
can find it. The Motom is still here in Normandy (no
registration needed here until 2009) but I'm thinning out my
collection of Italiana and my Capriolo 75 Turismo will serve me
better. This really is an excellent cyclomoteur; I
bought it in Italy, and it's head and shoulders above the usual
Villainous 2-stroke stuff. I can bring it over (to the UK)
at the end of June, or you can come here to view it, only 40km
from Cherbourg although I wouldn't recommend you ride it
